LOS ANGELES: The release date for the upcoming psychological thriller Verity, starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson, has been officially rescheduled. Originally set to premiere on May 15, 2026, the film will now hit theaters on October 2, 2026.

Based on the bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover, Verity follows the gripping story of a struggling writer, Lowen Ashleigh, who is hired to complete a popular book series left unfinished by the incapacitated author Verity Crawford. As Lowen begins her work, she discovers a chilling, unpublished manuscript in Verity’s home, revealing dark secrets that blur the line between fiction and reality.

Anne Hathaway plays the mysterious Verity Crawford, while Dakota Johnson portrays Lowen Ashleigh. Josh Hartnett joins the cast as Jeremy Crawford, Verity’s husband. Directed by Michael Showalter, the film has been described as intense, gothic, and emotionally charged.

Filming was completed earlier this year, and anticipation continues to build for what is expected to be one of the most talked-about thrillers of 2026. The new October release positions the film for a strategic fall debut, aligning it with awards season buzz and a strong box office window.
