KARACHI — A Karachi University professor, Dr. Afaq Ahmed Siddiqui, was reportedly slapped by a Rangers official at the KU campus’s Staff Town area. The incident occurred when Dr. Siddiqui asked the Rangers personnel to stop burning garbage near his residence due to health concerns.

According to witnesses, the situation escalated into a heated exchange, during which the Rangers official allegedly slapped Dr. Siddiqui, breaking his glasses and causing an eye injury. The university administration was informed, and the Karachi University Teachers Society (KUTS) has strongly condemned the incident.

KUTS has called for strict action against those responsible. A special meeting has been scheduled to discuss the matter further.
