Pakistan Railways is set to reintroduce the Pak Business Express, a service originally launched in 2012 as the country’s first privately operated passenger train. The revamped train aims to provide modern amenities and improved comfort for travelers between Lahore and Karachi.

The new Business Express will feature 28 fully digitized coaches with upgraded seating, Wi-Fi connectivity, and enhanced onboard services. An international-standard dining car will also be included to elevate the travel experience.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to inaugurate the train on July 19 in Lahore, marking a key step in Pakistan Railways’ ongoing modernization efforts. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to improve rail services and attract more passengers through better facilities.

The original Pak Business Express faced operational and financial challenges, leading to its return to full government control in 2015. Despite those setbacks, officials are optimistic about the success of the refurbished service, emphasizing that improvements have been made.

While the upgraded train promises better features, experts note that its success will depend on effective management and sustainable operations. The public remains hopeful that this new chapter will offer a reliable and comfortable travel option.
