ISLAMABAD – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said on Friday that the federal government will announce its course of action once Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) finalizes its protest preparations for August 5.

Speaking to the media, Naqvi stated, “Let them prepare first. Once they are done, we’ll decide how to respond.” He emphasized that the government is keeping a close watch on developments but will not act prematurely.

Addressing other key matters, Naqvi reiterated that no illegal Afghan nationals will be granted an extension of stay in the country. He added that just as other nations are enforcing immigration laws, Pakistan is also moving forward with similar action against undocumented foreigners.

The minister also discussed illegal housing societies, revealing that 133 unauthorized projects in Islamabad are under investigation. He said strict action is being taken against these developments to ensure urban planning compliance and protect citizens from fraud.

On the environmental front, Naqvi raised concerns about potential smog issues in Islamabad due to unregulated construction and lack of greenery. He announced plans to expand green zones and improve urban infrastructure. Additionally, he confirmed that roads damaged in Islamabad’s E-11 sector due to utility work would soon be repaired.

Naqvi concluded by stressing the government’s commitment to law enforcement, environmental protection, and civic development, stating that political protests would be dealt with in a lawful and measured manner once more clarity emerges from the PTI camp.
