DERA GHAZI KHAN — July 20, 2025: A tragic road accident near Chowk Chorhatta on Indus Highway, Taunsa Road, resulted in the death of a Dolphin Force officer and serious injury to another when their patrolling motorcycle collided with a speeding bus on Saturday.
Officer Rais Khan Raja died instantly due to the severity of the collision, while his colleague Muhammad Ijaz was critically injured. Both officers were on routine patrol at the time of the accident.
Rescue teams promptly transported the injured to the Trauma Centre at Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital for emergency treatment.
District Police Officer Syed Ali visited the scene and the hospital, ordering swift legal action against the bus driver, who was arrested for reckless and negligent driving. The DPO also emphasized ensuring the best medical care for the injured officer.
DPO Syed Ali confirmed that Officer Rais Khan Raja was martyred while performing his duty and announced that he would be honored with full police funeral rites. Investigations and legal proceedings regarding the accident are ongoing.
